Ground Rules

As we start this important conversation together, here are some ground rules.

1. Please be respectful of differing viewpoints and beliefs.
I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My relationship with God is not only a big part of my recovery but an essential part of who I am, and as such, may arise in conversation. It is an important part of healing to know we are loved by and can trust in a power greater than ourselves, whether we call that power God, Allah, the Universe, the Divine, or our Higher Self. Please feel free to share your beliefs and allow others to do the same.

2. Please do not share specific details of an assault.
Here at Beautiful Sound we are more interested in healing the effects of sexual assault and less interested in the actual incident itself. We are also sensitive to the soft hearts of a younger audience or those still healing from abuse. Please refrain from sharing names and details, and instead focus what effects you experience and what has helped you heal from those effects.

As we follow these basic principles, we hope to create a community where people feel welcome, loved, accepted, and connected to others who may also be traveling a similar journey of hope.
